If you were a different species, which one would you be? (Animal, insect, plant)
A Bird. Either a Swallow – as they are so versatile. (agile and graceful, and common and foreign at the same time). Or a Blackbird – so that I can explore my own environment from a new perspective and sing beautifully for once in my life.

How do you think culture shapes our understanding of what it means to be human?
I think culture IS what it means to be human. I think sharing expressions of culture and identity are the key to understanding each other, and that understanding and cooperation is what it means to be human.

What’s your favorite season of the year, and what do you enjoy most about it?
Summer. I am an unashamed hedonist, and summer makes it as easy as possible to enjoy myself, the company of others and to find fun and pleasure in the world.
