About the talk

What are the possibilities and roles of performance art institutions in a world in crisis? This is the topic of our public discussion, “Matters of Crisis” with representatives of theatre institutions. This event is also part of CPH Stage.Our local and global society face several crises. Environmental crises and wars fill our historical present, challenge our habits and alliances, confront us with the impossibility of political neutrality. What is the role of cultural institutions in this situation?
Different crises, like Ukriane, Gaza, the climate, evoke different reactions of cultural institutions.

This debate round, organized by Cecilie Ullerup Schmidt, Storm Møller Madsen, and Andreas Liebmann (Tårnby Park Studio), invites programming positions from Danish performing arts institutions of different sizes for a conversation about the role of performing arts institutions times of crises.
